Larry Cohen, D.V.M.

Dr. Cohen attended the University of Missouri where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in 1965 and Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 1968. Dr. Cohen did his internship at the St. Louis Missouri Humane Society Medical Center. In June of 1968, Dr. Cohen accepted a surgical residency and medical internship position at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, CO. While there he was able to further his skills in veterinary surgery and internal medicine.

In 1978 Dr. Cohen built and established Woodcliff Animal Hospital, a 6000 sq. ft. state of the art Veterinary Hospital, in Chatsworth, CA. where he was the chief of staff. He was the veterinary surgeon for his own practice as well as surgeon for other hospitals in the area.

Dr. Cohen moved to Durango, Colorado in 1986, but commuted to his practice in California until the business was sold in 1991. In June of 1992, Dr. Cohen opened Bakers Bridge Veterinary Clinic. Dr. Cohen also serves as the is the veterinary consultant for the Basin CO-Op in Durango.

Dr. Cohen has been an active member in his professional trade associations since 1971. In 1977, Dr. Cohen was elected as a trustee of the S.C.V.M.A., which is the governing body of the Southern California Veterinary Association. Dr. Cohen is also a member in good standing of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Colorado Veterinary Medical Association and the Cornell Feline Health Organization.
